Senior Manager: Data and Insight

£36,370 - £45,572
Permanent Full-Time
28 September 2017
13th October 2017

The National Gallery is rolling out its new digital services programme, a commercially-focussed strategy based on three core value propositions: developing new data-driven business models; digitising our visitor journey and creating immersive experiences

The Sr Manager: Data and Insight will be responsible for leading a Data and Insight Function as part of the first proposition, `data-driven business models`. The purpose of this value proposition is to create new income from both data analysis and qualitative research. The Data and Insight Function is the key part of this, bringing our qualitative and quantitative research skills in-house, and enabling us to make data and audience led decisions. The Head of Data and Insight will both act as a specialist researcher in either the qualitative or quantitative research areas, and lead a small team of a user researcher and a data analyst, and manage our data and analytics platforms. They will also run our relationships with external research partners. Their focus will be on unlocking new commercial value from initiatives in dynamic pricing, increasing visitor donations and other key commercial steps, on managing qualitative research around our overall audience behaviours and as part of our exhibitions development process, and managing our audience segmentation model and its uses.

The Sr Manager: Data and Insight will work with stakeholders across the organisation to evangelise the uses of user research and data analysis in bringing business improvement, and of audience-centric thinking.
